About
A thriving community does not happen by accident. It is built over time through trust, connection, shared responsibility, and a willingness to listen.
The Community Belonging Initiative is one way Noblesville can better understand itself and continue growing into a community where everyone has the opportunity to flourish.
Belonging is not just a nice idea.
It is a meaningful driver of the outcomes that benefit our whole community.
Belonging influences outcomes across every sector of community life.
Businesses are better able to attract and retain diverse talent.
Schools experience stronger family engagement.
Nonprofits build deeper trust and connection.
Local government benefits from greater resident participation and confidence.
Neighbors are more likely to build relationships, support one another, and feel a sense of belonging.
Noblesville is one of the fastest-growing communities in Indiana, and we have an opportunity to be intentional about the kind of community we are building.
The Community Belonging Initiative is designed to help us understand how residents experience life in Noblesville today. We will focus on what is working, where gaps exist, and who feels most and least at home.
This information will give community leaders, organizations, businesses, schools, and residents a stronger foundation for making decisions that help everyone thrive.
Belonging includes three connected dimensions:
Acceptance, Safety & Reciprocity
Do people feel welcomed, safe, and valued for what they contribute?
Representation in Leadership & Culture
Do residents see themselves reflected in leadership, institutions, and civic life?
Shared Identity & Experiences
Are people building meaningful connections through shared spaces, events, and community life?
